Chapter 1 - Spell of Ireland

The main symbol of the Irish people is the sheep. I imagine only animal furry can survive in the irish cold. Perhaps, this was the thing that won me over right away. Because of I love the Jutta Bauer 's character "Selma". It is a friendly sheep who holds the secret to happiness.


I arrived in Dublin, Ireland, in may, 9, a cold and rainy afternoon, exciting for discover the secret to hapinness of the Selma and her friends.

I met brazilians students in the airport and we shared a taxi. The first estrangement was the taxi driver in the right side of the car. I hosted in the my cousin Lucas and his boyfriend, Marcelo's house. They are living there since the start of the year to learn english more quickly. When I arrived with my bags, they welcomed me with smiles and kind hugs. 




Dublin is a small city with people very kind. In my first day, I wanted to see the Lifey River, that break the city in north and south. In one day, with the map on my hands, i got (consegui) to walk in whole city.

 


In four days, I visited places very importants of the historic city:

Trinity College - Oscar Wilde, James Joyce and other writers studied there. 


The Library of Trinity College that known by the world by the good conservation of the books and known for hosting the famous "book of kells".


The Museum of Modern Art and Royal Hospital Kilmainham




Kilmainham Gaol






 

Ireland is a native land (cidade natal) of the importants and famous writers of the world: Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, Bernard Shaw, Samuel  Becket, Jonathan Swift, Patrick Kavanagh and others. Because this, exist the Writers Museum that explain the history of the literature in Ireland.
